You'll know in about ten seconds.
Glengarry is built for one situation. If one of these is you, keep reading. If none of them is, we'd rather tell you now.
You still close everything yourself.
You built the product. You landed the first forty customers. Every deal that matters still runs through you, and the ones that don't make you nervous. You've been meaning to step back for two years.
You hired a salesperson. It didn't take.
Good CV, good interviews, six months of ramp, nothing to show for it. Now you're not sure whether it was the hire or the business. You're postponing the next one because you can't face it again.
You carry the number on a system nobody designed.
You're the sales lead or the MD the founder brought in. You inherited a CRM that's approximately wrong, a process that lives in heads and a forecast that's a feeling. You're expected to fix it with the same people and no more budget.
Does any of this sound like last Tuesday?
- You corrected the pipeline by hand before the board meeting.
- An enquiry sat unanswered over a weekend and you only found out because the prospect mentioned it.
- Revenue has circled the same number for a year or two, whatever you try.
- Someone asked "what's our sales process?" and the honest answer was a shrug.
- The last fix, a new tool, a consultant, a new hire, worked for three months and then didn't.
- You know the product is good because customers who get through the door stay.
None of these is a people problem. They're what a missing business function looks like from the outside. The activity of sales exists in your business. The operation doesn't.
The shape of the businesses we build for
Who it isn't for
It is not for everyone and the Blueprint exists partly to say so.
Large established sales organisations. The function already exists; what they need is different.
Businesses still searching for product-market traction. An operation can't fix a product nobody has decided to buy.
Anyone who wants a tools reseller or a body shop. Glengarry doesn't sell licences or hours. Sales skills training and demand generation aren't delivered here either.
If the Blueprint's readiness verdict is "not yet", that's the product working.
The four other ways to spend this money
Each one is a fair option. Each one leaves the same gap.
Keep going. You'll fix sales this year the way you fixed it last year and the fix will decay the same way, because nothing exists to hold it.
Hire sales ops. £80,000 or more a year before you ask who designs the architecture they'd be operating. The knowledge walks out when they do.
Buy software. Every tool assumes an operating system around it that you don't have. Tools without an architecture add noise.
Bring in a consultancy. Competent project work, a document, gone. Six months later it's decayed like every other fix.
